Hotel Overview:  Centrally located in downtown Calgary, The Fairmont Palliser is the cityâ?Ts premier, landmark hotel. With 407 elegantly appointed guest rooms, and the recent completion of an extensive renovation project, The Fairmont Palliser is truly the place to be.


Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Food & Beverage Outlets Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service

Lead and manage the day to day operation of the Starbucks, ensuring all service and control standards are followed

Demonstrates a calm demeanor during periods of high volume and manages smooth transitions to keep store operation to standard setting a positive example for the team

Drives the implementation of company programs by developing action plans and directly motivating and instructing the store team to implement them to meet operational and organizational guest service

Lead and support team in the achievement of their financial and operational targets

Utilize Performance Management Techniques to ensure achievement of all Standards and Operational targets

Plans, identifies, communicates and delegates appropriate responsibilities and practices to ensure a smooth flow of operations

Collaborates with Food & Beverage Outlets Manager to create financial goals and uphold Fairmont Standards

Ensures all performance reviews are completed 

Prepare annual budgets and administer in a fiscally responsible manner

Implement effective control of food, beverage, labour and operating expenses

Assist in the preparation of the annual strategic plan and achieve the goals and targets therein

Ensure the implementation of standards in guest service, constantly seek out ways to improve product and service as well as increase volumes and profits

Oversee the selection, training and development of all Colleagues to ensure timely recruitment and career growth

Follow department policies, procedures and service standards

Follow all safety policies

Other duties as assigned




Previous Food and Beverage leadership experience required

Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required

University/College degree an asset

Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities

Highly responsible & reliable

Must be flexible both in schedule and change management 

Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment

Ability to work cohesively as part of a team

Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times 

Salary: Based on experience.
