The Manager, Financial Excellence will report directly to the Director, Financial Excellence. This role will be key in effectively and efficiently supporting the function/business lines within Veresen and providing dedicated financial support for business planning, forecasting, and process improvement/strategic initiatives. The Manager, Financial Excellence will act as a project manager and liaise with impacted departments and functions.
Budgeting and Forecasting
Work closely with internal stakeholders to improve standardization and recommend improvements;
Coordinate the timely preparation of quarterly forecasts;
Liaise with all stakeholders to support development and communication of the annual budgets;
Process Improvement Initiatives
Develop a change plan to optimize current resources and improve support;
Coordinate departmental process improvement projects;
Develop to be process flows and process change diagrams to identify needed organizational and workflow changes;
Demonstrate advanced understanding of business processes, internal control risk management, IT controls, and related standards;
Onboarding of Financial Systems
Analyze and optimize set-up of the general ledger for new lines of business;
Determine reporting requirements for management and engineering teams;
Work with internal stakeholders and/or system vendors to determine required change to support those reporting requirements;
Veresen’s Enterprise Software Strategy Update
Support in sourcing and implementing a new financial system for Veresen;
Participate with change management initiatives, as well acting as a member of the Implementation Working Committee to communicate how/if other projects are impacted.
Demonstrated ability to think strategically, identify and solve difficult business problems;
Strong project management capabilities;
A minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
Several years related business experience with prior business process improvement experience considered a strong asset;
Ability to identify and address change management issues;
Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, under pressure, and within timelines in a deadline/project driven environment;
Proven relationship building skills at all levels;
Great degree of self-motivation and initiative;
Proficient Microsoft Office skills including Word, PowerPoint and Excel;
Proven ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.

Base Salary: $119,200.00 – 126,500.00/annum for 40 hours/week. Eligible for short and long term incentive compensation program.
