Reporting to the Manager, Compliance, this position is responsible for providing internal audit activities and ensuring that all laws, regulations and internal company policies and procedures are followed, and recommending and implementing corrective actions.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Perform individual Financial and Operational Internal Audits for major company operations by the process of risk assessment, scope determination, and preparation of an audit program and sampling of transactions
Complete audit activities to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal policies and procedures, controls, the reliability and integrity of financial information, compliance with laws and regulations, and industry recognized best practices
Prepare internal audit findings summaries highlighting issues and recommending corrective actions that consider other controls and procedures. Work with relevant management to implement corrective actions
Issue audit reports to inform management and audit committee of audit procedures, scope, findings, recommendations and any remedial actions planned for material items
Liaise with staff to build strong internal relationships
As the ideal candidate, you will hold the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and Project Management Professional (PMP) designations, and will have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Management with an Accounting focus.
You will have at least 6 years of experience in an Internal Auditor role, with experience as a Business Analyst and Accountant in the oil & gas industry. Extensive experience with compliance operations, financial audits and advisory work is required, as are strong Microsoft Excel skills. Familiarity with industry software such as Qbyte, Prism, TIPS, CS Explorer, Avocet, Cognos, PW Outlook, Accumap, Petrinex, AFE Navigator, iTrak and EAM, ADP OpenInvoice, and JIBLink is also required.
