JOB TITLE:               COOK I   DEPARTMENT:     Kitchen REPORTS TO: Executive Chef HOURS:     Full Time - Shift work including weekends days and evenings   JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: A la Carte, assisting in Banquet production, as well as some experience in Pastries. Cooking for saucier, to include preparation of soups/sauces/vegetables. Will act as replacement for Chef de Partie on his/her days off. Assisting in menu development, presentation, and deployment to hotel team. Promote and maintain a Safe and Healthy work environment adhering to the legislation set out by Occupational Health and Safety. Assists in other areas of culinary operation.   SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: Journeyman Red Seal certification with "Food Safe" essential. Highly motivated and quality oriented with proven creative culinary skills. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle a high paced environment. Must be able to work well with minimal supervision or in a team setting. Good interpersonal and communication skills needed to interact with colleagues, restaurant staff and kitchen management. Previous hotel experience would be an asset.   LANGUAGE SKILLS REQUIRED: Must be fluent in English, verbal and written.   PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:            Essential   UNIFORM REQUIRED:              Provided
